Family Relationships: The Greedy Sister-in-Law

Admit it most of us ladies especially the married ones have this relationship problem with the sister-in-law. Very rare that you will find a sister-in-law who you will have a good relationship with.

The conflict between you and the sister in law may stem from competing for the attention of your husband, who is their brother or the other way around. If it is your husband's sister who you have a conflict with, maybe it is because they are threatened by you. Especially when the sister in law has a very close relationship with your husband before you came around, definitely, you two are going to clash with each other.

Now, here is the story of a friend who has a sister-in-law who meddles in all of their affairs. Seems like a story from the telenovela right?! But believe me it is all true....

So here goes, the SISTER-IN-LAW, let as call her B, for Bitch , which she truly is, was asked by the husband of my friend, let's call her Z, to help her find a house for them. Since the husband was out of the country for most of the year, he cannot devote time to find a place for their family.

Now, Z knows what she wants. She already has an idea of the place that she wants to get for their family. In fact, she is trying to reserve for a place in a nice neighborhood where they will start their family and bring up their kids.

B, on the other hand has been speaking to the husband, her brother and did all she could to convince him to invest in a place in the condo community where she is staying. She even volunteered to process the loan for him if he will say yes.

B was also trying to convince Z to get the condo unit she have been showing her. But Z did not want a condo, since she already experienced living in a condo for the longest time and she knows that it is not an ideal place where you can bring up kids.

As I have said, B have been talking with the brother, and she was able to convince him to purchase a unit in the condo community where she was staying. So, they did the transaction behind the back of my friend Z, thinking that it will be a welcome surprise to her.

All the while Z was hoping to and praying that they will be able to purchase the house she reserved. Z cannot get hold of the husband at the time that she was able to reserve for the house she wanted. She tried all the possible means that she knows to reach the husband, unfortunately, she was way too late.

Z's world came crashing down when she learned that her husband and B have already purchased the condo unit. Even if she already stated that she is against buying the condo unit, still, her husband was influenced by B to get the unit.

On top of it all, Z's husband told her in her face that he has more confidence in his sister when it comes to finances than with Z. The nerve of the husband to tell her this in front of another of Z's friend and mine.

How come the guy married Z in the first place? If he is more inclined to believe what his sister has to say, shouldn't he just married his sister then.

From that day on, Z changed. Whereas before, she would give priority to her husband and his needs, now, she would do what she wants, when she wants it. Yes, they are still married, but it is more like a business relationship now.

Even when the husband is on vacation, Z would do whatever she wants. Now, it is her wants and needs above everything else. The husband on the other hand is trying his best to convince Z to bring back the old Z, well he has his work cut out for him.

Z has had enough. Z snapped when the husband did what the sister in law wanted. To add insult to the injury was his statement about having more confidence in the sister than the wife. Z cannot bring back the old Z, who is ever supportive of the husband. Now, she does as she pleases, which makes her happy.

The condo that Z's husband bought has become B's personal closet. It does not matter to Z anymore, she could not care less.

See how the sister in law has messed things up for Z....Due to the greedy nature of B, she was able to have her brother get her a place where she can put stuff she does not want or need yet.

Do you have sister in law adventures or stories too? You can share them here...If you have any comments about the story above, feel free to share it with us here...

  1. Yes That's true. I also have three sister inlaws. The middle one seldom comes at my home but the eldest and the youngest one use t o come to my inlaws house. These ladies has put no stone unturned to spoil my relation with my husband. These ladies are more clever. These ladies in my absence ,because i am working steals my personal belongings some costlier ones. and replace their inferior objects with my superior objects.i may sound very immature but when it happens with the person only that person can only realise the hurt. actually i feel hurt because i am betrayed by them .I lend my trust to them and how these ladies used my trust as a weapon to spoil my relationship.I am writing this because i am not getting the solution of this problem All the people of the house are united. They temper my costly things and if i raise voice i am further victimised and mentlly harrased by them.I want to take revenge. I want to cause them the same level of hurt what they have caused to me.All of them are so clever they never do or say any thing directly but create the situations that the person is compelled to do the things their way and by the time they formulate their's cunning and malatious intentions. If i say that my family people including my husband are conspirer it will not be wrong. But i am unable to catch them i don' have that guts in me and feeling of such kind of breach of trust i am enable to bear it .I don;t know what to do . I want these people to victimised the same way they have victimised me. The most common trait of such kind of "Neech" people they are very sweet in talking and always pretend as if nothing happened.

I want to know how to treat such kind of people without harming oneself so that they should feel ashamed of themselves
